Hindu group accused of attacking Jabalpur church

The Christian community has threatened to close missionary schools and colleges across Jabalpur if police fails to take action.

 

Jabalpur:  Members of 'Hindu Dharma Sena' on Friday night as accused of vandalizing a church in Jabalpur, where a Bible convention was being held with 200 tribal people, media reports said.

According to the report, church members have alleged that the Hindu group created a ruckus and then broke flowerpots.

The group however maintains that they did not vandalise the premise. They have said that they reached the venue since the church was conducting religious conversion of the tribals.

The police have registered a case against unknown people following a complaint from the church authority.

The Christian community has threatened to close missionary schools and colleges across Jabalpur if police fails to take action.

Though the community has denied that the gathering was for any conversion activities, a few tribals have claimed that they went to the convention to get converted, a report in NDTV said.
