Pastor's 60 second service ends in time for football

United States:  Pastor Tim Christensen of Gold Hill Lutheran Church in Montana was put in a difficult situation on Sunday morning.

He had a service to conduct at 11am, but the morning worship clashed with the kick-off for the San Francisco 49ers v Carolina PanthersAmerican football game.

So 49ers fan Pastor Christensen decided to perform a one-minute service then rush out to catch the game on television.

In a video captured by a member of the congregation, Pastor Christensen can be seen asking: "Would you all like to be forgiven for your sins? OK, that's great. You are," before adding "there's some bread and some wine up here on the table. Feel free to help yourself if you'd like to."

Opening up his vestment to reveal a 49ers T-shirt, the pastor then shouts, "I'm out of here".

The express service appeared to amuse the congregation, who can be heard laughing in the video.

For anyone doubting the pastor's dedication to his religious calling, the sermon was in fact a joke, according to a parish secretary, and a full service was held after.
