Pune:  The vice-principal of a Catholic school in Yerwada, Maharashtra, was today arrested for allegedly molesting a girl student in his office.

Vice principal Iju Francis Falkau, 54, of Don Bosco school was taken into custody after public outrage and protests outside the educational institution.

The accused had called the 14-year-old girl in his office on Jan. 2 and allegedly molested her, police said.

Based on a complaint, a case was registered against the accused yesterday and subsequently he was arrested today, they said.

He was produced before the court today and remanded to police custody till Jan. 25.
