Maramon convention to start on Sunday

The 119th Convention, one of the world’s largest Christian gatherings, is organized by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association.

Pathanamthitta:  Thousands of Christians in Kerala will gather on the bed of Pampa river at Maramon for the weeklong convention, scheduled to begin this Sunday.

The 119th Convention, one of the world’s largest Christian gatherings, is organized under the auspices of the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association.

Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Association general secretary Rev Abraham P Oommen said that Valiya Metropolitan Philipose Mar Chrysostum would lead the introductory prayer on February 9 at 2.30 pm.

Supreme head of Mar Thoma Church Joseph Marthoma Metropolitan will inaugurate the convention at 3 pm.

Evangelistic Association president Thomas Mar Timotheos will preside over the inaugural function. Zacharias Mar Theophilos Suffragan Metropolitan, Geevarghese Mar Athanasius, Euyakim Mar Coorlios, Joseph Mar Barnabas,Isaac Mar Philexinos, Abraham Mar Paulos will be present on the occasion.
