Amritsar:  The Church of North India is planning to send a delegation to Pakistan to express solidarity with the Christians of that country following twin blasts in a church that left over 80 dead.

P K Samantaroy, deputy moderator of Church of North India, said he had spoken to the moderator of the church of Pakistan, Bishop Azariah, following which they were contemplating on sending a high-powered delegation to Pakistan in the near future to express solidarity with the Christians of Pakistan.

"We are deeply aggrieved and condemn the killing of innocent Christians in the church premises in Peshawar. It is the result of gross negligence and apathetic attitude of government of Pakistan towards the safety of the minority Christians," he said.

He said that Church of North India would also take up the issue of targeting of minority communities including Christians in Pakistan at international platform to generate pressure on Pakistan government.

Meanwhile, Christians in Amritsar, Punjab, held a protest yesterday against the bombings. The All India Christians Dharam Yudh Morcha members burnt effigies of the Pakistan government.

"We are not going to end our agitation here, but it is a begining, we will hold statewide demonstrations against Pak government," he said.
