Catholics protest against Bollywood movies
Catholic groups have also decided to file police complaint against all concerned for hurting religious sentiments.

The protesters were demanding removal of ‘objectionable’ scenes from the movies Kamaal Dhamaal Malamal and Kya Super Kool Hai Hum.
They took out a procession from St. Peter’s Church in Bandra to Indian Motion Picture Producers (IMPPA) and Film Makers Combine (FMC) office to register their protest.
The protest was organized by Association of Concerned Catholics, Catholic Secular Forum, Maharashtra Christian Youth Forum, Catholic Residents Organization for Social Services and Catholics for Preservation of Faith.
The protesters demanded that a representative appointed by the Mumbai archdiocese be nominated on the Censor Board to vet movies concerning the community.
Last week, the community submitted a memorandum to Leela Samson, chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification in this regard.
They said that the movie Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, which would release on Sept. 28, includes scenes where a priest is depicted dancing with Catholic imagery and the community portrayed as drunkards and of easy virtue.
The groups have also decided to file police complaint against all concerned for hurting their religious sentiments.
Earlier in August, Hindi movie Kya Super Cool Hain Hum showed a Christian priest solemnizing the “marriage” of two dogs, which evoked strong reactions from the community.
