Bishop wants unity of Christian denominations

Pathanamthitta:  The head bishop of Church of South India (CSI) says unity and cooperation among various Christian Churches is vital in a diverse world where people fight each other.

CSI Moderator Bishop G Devasirvadom was addressing the 119th Maramon Convention on the fourth day on Wednesday
. He said the Christian denominations should come together for the restoration of peace and happiness among the people.

In the unity efforts, the cooperation of other religious leaders should be sought, he said.

The CSI Moderator complimented the Mar Thoma Church for the efforts for a common platform on working out ecumenical matters.

Archbishop Mattha Mor Thimoteos Al Khoori of the Antioch delivered the homily at the 119th Maramon convention.

Mar Thoma Church supremo Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan presided over the meeting. At the special session against social evils, Kuriakose Mar Evasios delivered the discourse. Philipose Mar Chrysostum Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan presided over the meeting.

Bishop Abraham Mar Paulose delivered the homily in the evening and Thomas Mar Theethos presided over the meeting.
