All Kerala villages have public health centres

Each PHC serves a population of around 25,000 people.

 

Thiruvananthapuram:  Keeping up with its development pace, Kerala Monday set another record by setting up public health centres (PHC) for ayurveda as well as allopathy in each of its 978 village councils, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said.

"Today (Monday), we cleared the opening of four new ayurveda PHCs in four village councils in Idukki district. A new PHC in allopathy was commissioned Sunday in my home constituency Puthupally," he said.

"With this, each and every village councils in the state have a public health centre in both allopathy and ayurveda and very soon we will see each of the councils have a homeopathy public health centre too," Chandy told reporters.

Each PHC serves a population of around 25,000 people.
