Salesian awarded for excellence in Youth Work

Father Pulinthanathumalayil is the founder director of Don Bosco Youth Centre in the state capital of Itanagar.

 

Dimapur:  Father Cyriac Pulinthanathumalayil of Salesian Province of Dimapur in Arunachal Pradesh has received a state award for excellence in Youth work.

The Award was given by the Home Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, on Feb 20 in Itanagar at a function to celebrate the Statehood day of Arunachal Pradesh. KirenRijiju, Minister of State for Home Affairs, and other dignitaries of the Statewere present at the occasion.

The Don Bosco Youth center has helped hundreds of young people from the state to find jobs in various parts of the country. It imparts skills in computer, hospitality, spa and beauty, retail and tourism, spokes English and other soft skills.

His novel idea of developing the trainees` personality and leadership skills during a residential motivational soft skills training, before venturing out of the state for further specialized training and placement, has enhanced the success rate of the government`s skill training programs.
