All Vatican diplomats called to pre-September 7 briefing

Pope attaching great importance to day of prayer for Syria.

Vatican City:  All diplomats accredited to the Holy See have been asked to attend a September 5 briefing on the September 7 day of prayer for peace in Syria.

Underlining the importance that the Pope Francis places on the September 7 even, the Secretariat of State invited the entire Vatican diplomatic corps to the Thursday-morning briefing.

The Vatican press office also disclosed that the Secretariat of State has sent information about the day of prayer to the episcopal conference in every nation, and followed up to confirm that these messages have been received. Father Federico Lombardi, the director of the Vatican press office, added that other Vatican offices are planning their own efforts to support the Pope's initiative.
