Archbishop William D'Souza of Patna was the guest of honour at the opening ceremony on April 20.In his address, the archbishop described the initiative as a sign of "hope and a tool for wellness and integrity for people who are stressed and overloaded [by tasks] in a rapidly growing world."Mgr D'Souza also thanked the hospital for "meeting society’s needs since it opened.”
Sister BasantiLakra, provincial of the congregation and a hospital administrator, said, "We started this new venture to meet the needs of the changing times. Providing alternative therapies is good for a healthy lifestyle."
The centre has modern equipment and offers services at reasonable prices: yoga, aromatic herbal massages, hydrotherapy, mud therapy, and Ayurvedic treatments with oils. Dietary advice and spine and joint pain care are also available. The goal is to provide psychological well-being.Treatment time is assessed case by case after medical consultation. The centre has a general ward, as well as private rooms. It also offers personalised counselling.
"We must rediscover the importance of contact with nature to find harmony with the entire ecosystem," saidDr Mandal Sarju, an experienced naturopath.
